You may give your roommate a key to the front door

At some point or another, we all lose our keys. Whether it's the house, the car, or even the safe - If you haven't lost the key yet, you will, and it will probably be at the worst possible time. You will probably never think about your local locksmith service until you need it.

Just about any hardware store can duplicate a key. This has been done forever, and is a relatively cheap and painless process. You may give your roommate a key to the front door. Perhaps your parents or siblings hold onto a set of spares. You probably have a spare car key stashed away in a drawer for when you accidentally leave your keychain on the seat.

But then, one day, you come home from work exhausted. You get to your front door, reach for your keys, and they're not there. You go back to the car, only to find them sitting on the driver seat. You try to open the door only to find that it's locked. Your spare is locked in the house, and your brother with the only other copy is out of town.

At a time like this, your local locksmith might just be your best friend. Just about every town has one, and most localities will have multiple local locksmith services to choose from. Odds are you won't have the yellow pages on hand in your driveway, but you've probably got your phone. Check it out online, or call 411. Someone is there to help you, day or night, and he's good at what he does. The key you lost was designed to open the lock you can't get into - Your local locksmith has spent his entire life learning how to open it without a key.
